Yes, Donald Trump Will Appear on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Too
Many saw the announcement that Donald Trump would drop by Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show as a sign the former SNL player would take bigger swings to compete with Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, but you wouldn’t expect The Donald to shy away from publicity, would you? Week 3 guests of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert have arrived, everyone from Trump, to Hugh Jackman, to Pearl Jam and the Archbishop.
While Trump will appear on The Tonight Show on Friday, September 11 (cue your outrage), eleven days later will see the ever-controversial GOP frontrunner sit down with Colbert on September 22. We’ve already seen what week 2 looks like, but behold Trump Week on the new Late Show:
Monday, September 21 - NBA MVP Steph Curry; Senator Ted Cruz (n)
Tuesday, September 22 - Donald Trump; U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest Moniz; musical performance by Raury (n)
Wednesday, September 23 - Actor Hugh Jackman and founder of the Global Poverty Project Hugh Evans; Senator Elizabeth Warren; musical performance by Pearl Jam (n)
Thursday, September 24 - Author Andrew Sullivan; Journalist and Activist Maria Shriver; Comedian Jim Gaffigan; Archbishop Thomas Wenski (n)
Friday, September 25 - Nobel Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai; Actress Kerry Washington; musical performance by The Arcs (n)
Even in week 3, it’s refreshing to see Colbert sticking to his guns outside of the traditional celebrity guest (Trump admittedly counts as both informative and sideshow), interviewing more inspiring talent like Malala Yousafzai. The Late Show dipped closer to Fallon’s ratings last night, but who’s more likely to score shareable minutes with The Donald? Watch last night’s Colbert highlights below:
