If you want to save a remake from being slaughtered in pre-production, it's best to hire a great filmmaker. And where the idea of a remake of Park Chan-Wook's 'Oldboy' might have seemed terrible, with Spike Lee behind the camera it will at least be interesting. And the talent in front of the camera is there to match as Sharlto Copley has been confirmed as the mysterious torturer of Josh Brolin in the film.

Often foreign actors are courted by Hollywood to bring their magic to studio productions, but it doesn't always take. Recently we've seen Oscar winner Marion Cotillard do okay, and the cast of the foreign version of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' are in the process of being tested out - Noomi Rapace's Hollywood career will be made or broken by 'Prometheus.' Copley was hot off of 'District 9,' and came stateside for 'The A Team.' But rumors were that he was difficult and amateurish during the production, and he fell off the radar.

But with a role in Neill Blomkamp's 'District 9' follow-up 'Elysium' and now this, it seems that he will keep working. And Deadline noted that not only is he confirmed for 'Oldboy' but he's also got 'Open Grave' on the plate, where he'll be working with the director of 'Apollo 18.' That, though, sounds less promising.
