‘South Park’ Calls the Election Early in New “Obama Wins!” Season Finale Clip
If nothing else, 'South Park' will always be known for its lightning quick turn-around when it comes to production, often parodying topical events mere days after they occur. This was never more clear than 2008's "About Last Night...," which parodied the election results the night before, but has 'South Park' gotten even faster in recent years? Given that the next episode will be titled "Obama Wins!," 'South Park' seems to have predicted the decision for us! So what does the first clip reveal?
We don't recall the powers of the electoral college being publicly granted to Matt Stone, Trey Parker, or Comedy Central, though 'South Park' has certainly made a bold claim with this Wednesday's upcoming episode, simply titled "Obama Wins!" Debuting one day after the 2012 presidential elections, the season finale episode will see the fate of a nation in the hands of Eric Cartman, who manages to take control of the vote!
Will 'South Park's prediction turn out accurate, or have Matt and Trey structured the story in such a way that the actual election results won't matter? Check out the press release, and official clip below!
