Lest you think the Big Little Lies Season 2 casting of Meryl Streep might eat into the budget, HBO won’t skimp on our second trip to Monterey. The whole of Season 1’s expansive cast has formally signed on for the Emmy-winner’s 2019 return, including our beloved wine-sloshed Laura Dern.

The writing was already on those fabulous Monterey walls, but Big Little Lies is officially getting bigger. HBO confirms a second season of its Emmy-winning drama in the works with the original cast, and Andrea Arnold taking over the director’s chair.

You’d be hard-pressed to top the one-off, wine-soaked perfection of Big Little Lies, but HBO can’t help flying a little closer to that Monterey sun. A new report suggest Season 2 is officially a go, with production earmarked for 2018.

The recent trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi gave us a pretty hefty preview of the latest chapter in the saga, but amid all that new footage, a few things were missing — chiefly Laura Dern, who plays the violet-haired Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (what a name!). We’ve seen Dern in costume before, but a new image circulating online gives us a fresh sneak peek at her exciting Star Wars character…and reveals another BB unit.

Well, at least one expensive and underrated Netflix series managed to escape the cancellation axe. Just weeks after its second season, animated comedy F Is for Family confirms that Bill Burr, Laura Dern and more Murphys will be back for Season 3.

When it comes to the movies, these are lucky times we’re living in. A new Star Wars movie opens this December with the return of new favorite – Rey, Finn, and Poe – and old favorites – Luke and Leia. But even for those who aren’t deeply professed fans of the galaxy far far away, Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi has a little something for you too; Laura Dern with purple hair, and Benicio Del Toro, looking as cool as ever.

Bill Burr’s animated F Is for Family hasn’t streamed any new episodes since December of 2015, but might be even filthier than you remember. Ahead of its late May premiere, the ‘70s family comedy releases a full NSFW trailer, as feminism becomes the new F Is for Family.

Boy, you can’t seem to swing a dead cat (not that you’d want to) without hitting one of Netflix’s May premieres. Like House of Cards and Bloodline before it, Netflix now has a late May premiere for Season 2 of Bill Burr’s animated F Is for Family, along with an irate first teaser.

The Leftovers certainly made do with an HBO series that outgrew its original novel, so might Big Little Lies do the same? The star-studded miniseries has many fans hoping for a followup, and original author Liane Moriarty says she’s actively developing a potential continuation with the network.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt may be debuting Season 3 later in the year than we’re used to, but the wait appears to be well worth it. Not only do we have our first photos, but also word on new and returning guests, from Laura Dern to Jon Hamm and yes, Robert Durst. Sort of.
