Where once it seemed all our supernatural Riverdale dreams might come true, Netflix’s Sabrina has broken that spell. Despite the latter being designed as a spinoff, showrunners confirm the two series will be sticking to their own separate universes.
It’s getting to be that time of year, and The CW is going all-in with its formal renewals. Good news has arrived for fans of Black Lightning, Arrow, Flash, Riverdale, Supernatural and more, but who got left in the post-apocalyptic cold?
You won’t have to work very hard to conjure excitement for this one. Our new Netflix Sabrina has been found, as Mad Men alum Kiernan Shipka has landed the title role of the Riverdale spinoff-turned Netflix drama.
Excited though we were to see Sabrina join the Riverdale-verse, Netflix likely offered a bit more leeway with its darker tone. That darkness is pretty literal in our first official concept art from the series, which brings a bit of school spirit to some creepy woods.
We knew Sabrina the Teenage Witch was likely to conjure her very own Riverdale spinoff, but magic can be a might unpredictable. As such, the new series has charmed its way to a two-season order, surprisingly not on The CW.
