Yorgos Lanthimos' follow-up to the Academy Award nominee 'Dogtooth' might be the strangest, most complex film on my list. Just between us girls, I'm not even 100% sure I understood it. The tale of freelance grief counselors who assume the identity of dead loved ones is intentionally opaque, blurring the lines of identity and motivation. Of course, anything even remotely smelling of hubris comes at a price, and heartbreak and violence loom for our band of (allegedly) altruistic souls. Plus: gymnastics.

Best part: Running lines in the lighting store.
