Jurassic WorldTomorrowland and Ant-Man notably and unfortunately made little use of Judy Greer’s immense talents this year, with all three films highlighting the way the actress is often sidelined, relegated to roles like “mom who shows up to care about her kids for five minutes.” But Greer is a wonderful actress who still has the power to surprise us, like she did last year in her moving mo-cap performance as Cornelia, wife of ape leader Caesar in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes — a role she will officially reprise for the upcoming sequel.

THR reports that Greer is set to return to the role of Cornelia in War for the Planet of the Apes, in which Andy Serkis will also reprise his role of Caesar. Director Matt Reeves previously teased that the third Apes film will see Caesar becoming something of an “ape Moses,” and although Cornelia became a mother to a little chimpanzee baby in the previous film, we’re confident that Reeves will give her something more to do than simply playing “worried monkey mom who shows up for five minutes.”

Greer and Serkis join new human cast members Woody Harrelson and Gabriel Chavarria, with Steve Zahn recently signing on to play a new ape character. No plot details are available just yet, but Reeves began filming this past week and revealed the first set photo over the weekend, which featured a very familiar scene.

War for the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on July 14, 2017.
