Sometime last year, Wreck-It Ralph composer Henry Jackman basically offered our only confirmation of a sequel to the wonderful Disney film. Since then, we haven’t heard anything else about the possibility of the project, but Ralph himself has given us the closest thing to legit confirmation in an unlikely place: during a film festival in Ireland.

During an interview at the Galway Film Fleadh in Galway, Ireland (via Empire), John C. Reilly revealed to a reporter that he’s signed on for Wreck-It Ralph 2. Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore’s next Disney animated project, Zootopia, hits theaters later this year, so it’s possible that he could go into production on Wreck-It Ralph 2 shortly after. But given the time it takes to put these animated films together, it could still be a few years before we see the sequel.

Wreck-It Ralph was a bit of a surprise when it hit theaters a couple of years ago — Pixar also had a new film that year with Brave, and yet Wreck-It Ralph was the better of the two. In fact, Brave felt more like a Disney animated film, while Wreck-It Ralph felt like it should have been from Pixar.

Obviously there’s no word on potential plot points for the Wreck-It Ralph sequel, though there have been previous rumors about the possibility of including Mario, Luigi and Link if Disney can work those rights out.
