If you're mourning the loss of Metal Gear Online when its servers were shut down in 2012, you can rejoice the fact that a new online game is in the works and is being developed alongside Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

According to CVG, Hideo Kojima confirmed that Kojima Productions' LA studio is working on a multiplayer Metal Gear game.

Kojima also teased that the Phantom Pain will have an innovative new feature "that hasn't been done before" and will be a "big surprise." We hope this means that we'll get to wear more Major Raikov masks, but we doubt it.

Metal Gear Solid 5 will feature an open world with vehicles, real-time weather effects, a day and night cycle and even better close-quarters combat action. Hopefully, we'll see these features transfer over to the new Metal Gear Online.

Let us know what you think about a new MGO and tell us if you'd play it.
