One of Robin Williams’ final projects was lending his voice to the comedy Absolutely Anything, in which Simon Pegg is granted immense power to do, well, anything in the world, thanks to some scheming aliens. The first trailer paints the film as something like Bruce Almighty, but with aliens instead of God.

Pegg and Williams are joined by the Monty Python cast, who lend themselves to the voices of some cartoonish aliens, who decide to bless Pegg’s cynical school teacher character with great power — but as we learned from Spider-Man…oh, you know. So Pegg uses his powers in silly ways, to spy on his attractive neighbor, to make his dog (Williams) talk, to make his dog’s poop clean itself up (this is stupidly funny in the trailer), and all manner of shallow things.

But soon he realizes he can use that power for good, and so we have a movie.

Absolutely Anything follows a disillusioned school teacher (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens (voiced by Cleese, Gilliam, Jones, Palin & Idle), watching him from space.

As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way.

Mishap after mishap finally leads him to the ultimate conundrum that all men dread and at which many have failed….should he choose the girl….or the dog….?

Absolutely Anything also stars John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Kate Beckinsale, and hits U.K. theaters on August 14. There isn’t a release date for the U.S. just yet.
