We won't know for some time whether or not CBS opts to pick up the pilot of its 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV series, but the pilot is at least getting easier on the eyes. Deadline reports that 'Argo' star Sheila Vand has joined that adaptation's pilot, taking the role of Leila, a fellow Beverly Hills detective.who gave up her privileged lifestyle for more independence.

As Deadline points out, the character was written as Persian to better represent the 20+% Iranian-American population of Beverly Hills.Vand joins a supporting cast that so far includes comedian Kevin Pollak and former ‘The Office‘ player David Denman as Brad Fullmer, Aaron Foley's straight-laced partner.

Produced by Eddie Murphy and ‘Last Resort’ show-runner Shawn Ryan, the forthcoming ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ series follows Axel Foley’s son Aaron Foley working to “take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while simultaneously trying to escape the shadow of his larger than life father.”
