While plans to add another installment to the 'National Lampoon's Vacation' franchise are moving along nicely New Line Cinema is in negotiations to cast its star and word on the street is that 'The Office' funny guy Ed Helms is the man for the job.

Variety reports that the production company is trying to get a deal set for Helms to star as Rusty Griswold, the all-grown-up son of Chevy Chase's classic character. Though, this doesn't come as that big of a surprise since talk of Helm's involvement was rumored at the beginning of the year when New Line was busy bringing on John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein as co-directors.

If the deal goes off without a hitch, production on 'Vacation' could begin as soon as Helms finishes up his work on 'The Hangover 3' and upcoming 'Office' season.

So, are you excited? The franchise brought in a ton for Warner Bros. at the time of release, it's biggest installments being 'European Vacation' and 'Christmas Vacation,' which brought in more than $70 million combined. But will Helms be a good fit? Let us know in the comments.
