Edward James Olmos Is the Latest Actor to Join Shane Black’s ‘Predator’ Sequel
Edward James Olmos is doing double-duty in the sci-fi genre. On top of reprising his Blade Runner character for Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sequel, the Battlestar Galactica will get back into his military sci-fi roots with the new Predator.
A new report from The Hollywood Reporter reveals Olmos is the latest actor to sign on to Shane Black's Predator reboot. Olmos will reportedly play a military character in the new film, which is a sorta-sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger 1987 classic. The new movie will follow a new group of humans being stalked by aliens, but despite rumors, the movie won't take place in the suburbs.
The Predator, co-written by Black and Fred Dekker, is already in production in Vancouver. Earlier this month filmmaker teased the first still of the cast on a bus. Logan villain Boyd Holbrook will lead a fantastic cast that includes Moonlight's Trevante Rhodes, Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Jane, Yvonne Strahovski, and Augusto Aguilera. The Predator hits theaters February 9, 2018.
