Though it may lack the punch of the Ben Affleck in 'Man of Steel 2' casting news, 'Fast and Furious 7' has upped its ranks by getting Tony Jaa to join the film. For those who've never seen Jaa in action, this is a very good thing.

This news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, and for those who don't know his work, Jaa became something of a sensation because of his starring role in 2003's 'Ong-Bak' (which didn't hit American shores until 2005), where the film showcased his Muay Thai skills. That meant seeing elbows used in the most brutal of fashions, and as the film was shot in Thailand, the fight scenes delivered very realistic blows. 'Ong-Bak' led to a run of films and sequels, but few made much of an impression stateside.

Regardless of those films' relative qualities, Jaa can offer some much need skills in terms of martial arts. That was the role played by Joe Taslim in 'Fast and Furious 6' and Taslim (who was hot off of 'The Raid') delivered one of the best fight scenes in the film.

Jaa joins Jason Statham and as the newcomers to the cast, though it's unknown if Jaa will be a good guy or bad guy. After the deaths in 'Furious 6,' we'd be happy to see Jaa suit up as a new teammate for Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker). ‘Fast and Furious 7′ is scheduled to hit theaters July 11, 2014, and if you've never seen Jaa in action, you should check out this highlight reel (though the music is terrible):
