Christian Grey will have his hands full in Fifty Shades Darker — between dealing with the fallout from the end of Fifty Shades of Grey and interference from his older ex-lover Elena, Christian will also have to handle the appearance of another ex-partner. Yes, that cardboard cutout of Jamie Dornan sure will have some ’splaining to do as Bella Heathcote has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel in the role of one of his other former sexy-times friends.

Deadline reports that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies star Bella Heathcote has signed on to play the role of Leila in Fifty Shades Darker, the first of two Fifty Shades of Grey sequels, with director James Gray (House of Cards) filming both installments back-to-back. In E.L. James’ books, Leila is an ex-sex partner of Christian’s who is still coping with emotional and physical scars from their “relationship.” Along with Leila, Christian will also have to deal with Kim Basinger’s Elena Lincoln, the woman who first introduced him to BDSM and remains his business partner and closest confidant.

Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed are both being scripted by James’ husband, fellow author Niall Leonard, with Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson both returning to reprise their roles as Christian and Anastasia, respectively. Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to hit theaters on February 10, 2017, followed by Fifty Shades Freed on February 9, 2018.
