‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Teasers Attached to ‘Terminator Genisys’ This Weekend

Inside Out, Magic Mike XXL and Terminator Genisys are the three biggest films you have to choose from at the theater this weekend, but here’s something that may help you make the decision a little easier: if you head out to see Terminator Genisys this weekend, you’ll be treated to a special early teaser of Independence Day: Resurgence.

To celebrate the Fourth of July, 20th Century Fox is premiering the first teaser for the long-gestating sequel in theaters, and Terminator Genisys is the most appropriate film to attach that teaser to this weekend. AICN got the scoop from a theater employee with paperwork confirming that the teaser would be attached to Terminator Genisys screenings — but for today only. The teaser is about 35 seconds long, so don’t expect to see too much, but if you’re a super fan of Independence Day and on the fence about hitting the theater today, this should make up your mind for you.

Just last week, Fox revealed the official title and treatment (below) for Independence Day: Resurgence, which features Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch and Brent Spiner reprising their roles from the original film, alongside Maika Monroe, Liam Hemsworth, Joey King, Charlotte Gainsbourg and William Fichtner.

Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters on June 24, 2016.
