Lest you thought Ben Kingsley would be the only one to torment Tony Stark in 'Iron Man 3' think again. Marvel Studios is in talks with James Badge Dale ('The Grey,' the upcoming 'Lone Ranger') to star in the film as an additional villain. Dale will star as Eric Savin, a character who in the comics became known as "Coldblood."

Dale joins Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Guy Pearce and returning stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow in the film. As has been previously reported, 'Iron Man 3' will follow the "Extremis" storyline from the comics.

So how does Dale's character of Coldblood fit into the picture?

In the comics, Lieutenant Colonel Eric Savin was in charge of Project: Ultra-Tech (likely to be merged with the Extremis project in the film). During combat, Savin stepped on a mine and was blown to pieces. Literally. His girlfriend and scientist (possibly Rebecca Hall?) brought him back to life with the technology they were developing. So think of him as a cross between Iron Man and RoboCop.

It has reported that Kingsley won't be playing Mandarin in the film but that, at this point, seems hard to believe.

Filming on 'Iron Man 3' was set to begin this week (if you can believe that) for a 2013 release.
