We knew that Katy Perry had been filming a 3D concert movie a la Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' but beyond that, we didn't know much about it.  All that changed this weekend when Ms. Perry made the announcement that her new film would be titled "Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D' and it would hit theaters on Fourth of July weekend. Excited? How about a new trailer too?

Perry revealed the news about the film at Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards on Saturday, telling a reporter from E! that fans should, "Go and see it and be a firework." [Insert your own audible groan here.]

Though it's a simple concert film that will be going up against 'The Amazing Spider-Man' (also in 3D) over the holiday weekend, 'Part of Me' has an impressive pedigree.  The film was directed by the duo named Magical Elves (Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz) and was produced by director Craig Brewer ('Hustle and Flow,' 'Footloose') and mega-mogul Brian Grazer.

The film was produced at Paramount's micro-budgeted production company Insurge, but the studio is hoping they can turn a little film like this into a box-office explosion. Check out the new trailer for 'Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D' below and see if you agree.
