We always associate Mariah Carey first and foremost as a singer. But a couple of years ago she reminded us that she's got some decent acting chops when appearing in Lee Daniel's 'Precious.' Now she' back at it again, taking on another acting role in a monstrous production

Vulture reports Mariah Carey will be joining the cast of Lee Daniel's latest dramatic film 'The Butler' a story that spans three decades about a butler at the White House. Since Lee Daniels managed to create the glamorous singer into an almost unrecognizable version of herself in 'Precious,' we're curious to see what he's got planned for her in this.

There's already a considerable amount of hype on 'The Butler,' mainly because of it's story and the large cast surrounding the movie. She's now part of a cast that includes Forest Whittaker, Oprah Winfrey, Melissa Leo, Robin Williams, Minka Kelly, James Marsden, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Lieb Schrieber and John Cusack. There's no word on who Mariah Carey will be at the moment but feel free to take your guesses as to what her role may be.

'The Butler' isn't the only movie that Lee Daniels has been directing post-'Precious.' There's also his tantalizing new thriller 'The Paperboy' which premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival. You'll be able to see the picture in limited theaters on October 5th.
