With all the hustle and bustle leading up to the release of Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises,' -- the final film in his Batman trilogy -- it's been easy to forget that Marion Cotillard has a role in the film.

Cotillard recently revealed some details on her character, but reader beware -- spoilers within!

In a recent interview with THR, Cotillard says her character, Miranda Tate, "is fascinated by Wayne Enterprises. They go through difficulties, and she wants to help provide the world clean energies. She's a good guy."

Fans and outlets alike have been speculating for months over Cotillard's involvement, and with the confirmation of a cameo appearance by Liam Neeson as Ra's al Ghul, it's been posited that Cotillard may very well be playing his daughter, Talia. In the comics, Talia al Ghul becomes a love interest for Batman/Bruce Wayne, forsaking her loyalty to her father. it was speculated that Talia might be an assassin out to avenge her father's death in 'The Dark Knight Rises,' but Cotillard, who also starred in Nolan's 'Inception,' has dismissed the possibility.

Miranda Tate is no double-agent. Her character will be a basic love interest for Bruce Wayne and a board member for Wayne Enterprises who encourages him to carry on his father's philanthropic traditions.

Then again, Chris Nolan has always been a fan of misdirection and vagary. Could this all be a big con to keep the truth behind Miranda Tate concealed? After all, these does not look like the actions (nor the attire) of a simple board member. Or is she really just a replacement for deceased Bruce Wayne love interest Rachel Dawes? We'll find out in July!
