There are few things as reliably funny as Bad Lip Reading, the YouTube series that takes existing footage and subs over it with hilarious nonsense. Their latest targets are the 2013 Independent Spirit Award nominees for Best Screenplay, which means that they're taking well-written and well-liked movies 'Silver Linings Playbook' and 'Moonrise Kingdom,' and transforming them into absurdism at its best and strangest.

The video flies through each of the films, dubbing over a key scene and moving on before the joke can get stale (restraint and punctuality is a key component in decent internet comedy, after all). It begins with 'Silver Linings Playbook,' transforming a conversation between Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence into the latter confessing that she's abducted Taylor Swift for being a "firewalker." From there, the video takes on 'Seven Psychopaths,' 'Ruby Sparks,' 'Moonrise Kingdom' and 'Keep the Lights On.'

The video doesn't just work because the nonsense phrases are funny, but because the timing of the dubbing is so precise -- with some of them, you could easily be fooled into thinking this was what was actually coming out of the actors' mouths! The Bad Lip Reading style fits especially well with this batch of films, using the emotional intensity found in them to make the bizarre dialogue all the stranger and more effective.
