For two decades, 'The Simpsons' has defined itself on being the show that bites the hand that feeds it, courtesy of an incredibly forgiving contract drafted during the Fox network's early days. It shouldn't be surprising when 'The Simpsons' playfully (or not so playfully) lashes out at certain easy targets, but oh, it is and it's often so much fun. Case in point, the immortal show used Fox's 25th anniversary to congratulate its parent network...while simultaneously bashing Fox News.

The gag followed a special anniversary re-airing of the first episode of 'The Simpsons' (which first aired back in 1989). When the credits rolled, a special title card appeared:

"Congratulations FOX on 25 years...we still love you.*"

And that asterisk? Well...

"*This doesn't include Fox news."

Making fun of Fox News isn't controversial for anyone who doesn't work at Fox News, particularly since the show has done it so often in the past. Here's but a brief collection of some of the show's frequent Fox News bashing:
