‘South Park’ Pivots to ‘Oh, Jeez’ for 2016 Election Episode
South Park may have been confident enough in its election predictions for 2008 and 2012 to use their quick turnaround on Wednesday’s episodes, but 2016 may be their biggest challenge yet. Following an early call for “The Very First Gentleman,” tonight’s South Park has been reworked into “Oh, Jeez” with a new clip.
Where previously the episode featured a scene in which PC Principal introduces Bill Clinton as the true winner of the 2016 Election, the events of Tuesday’s reality quake have now been incorporated into the episode. In our new clip, Randy dishearteningly extols the virtue of America being made great again, though his family very much disagrees.
The “Oh, Jeez” quote itself comes from Mr. Garrison, who (as many once suspected about Trump), never genuinely wanted to be President, and now faces terrifying responsibility. So reads the updated synopsis:
PC Principal tries one more time to make peace between the boys and the girls. Meanwhile Gerald comes face-to-face with the Troll Hunter.
Surely Matt Stone and Trey Parker will have more to say after the episode itself, as for the moment, it’s unclear exactly how much of the existing story and animation had to be changed. This isn’t even the first time Season 20 has come down to the wire, as the premiere only came in an hour or so before actual airtime.
