This sound like a practical joke, something that should have been a faux press release on April Fool's Day, but this is a real. Elijah Wood is signed on to be part of a movie that sounds too ridiculous to be true, and we can't wait to see it. It's 'Speed'...but at a piano.

Elijah Wood has signed on to star in the independent thriller called 'Grand Piano,' reports /Film but it's the story line that makes the whole project sound so wonderfully goofy. The story is said to center around a once-great concert pianist who took a five-year hiatus because of his sudden stage fright. Just when he’s about to play the first bar, he notices somebody has written a threatening note on his music sheet. He’s now forced to play his best concert ever to save his life as well as his wife’s. One wonders how long a person can play on a piano without any breaks, since this is essentially being described as 'Speed' but with a piano.

Directing the picture is Eugenio Mira with Rodrigo Cortes ('Buried') on board as a producer. Maybe this movie will be along the same vein as 'Snakes on a Plane,' but if this is a bonafide thriller like the report says it is then we're in for a treat.

Regardless, we want to see this now. Right now.
