Following their very successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, the Broken Lizard guys have begun filming Super Troopers 2, the sequel to their cult hit comedy from 2002. Jay Chandrasekhar is directing (and starring) once again, with Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske and Paul Soter all reprising their roles as those silly state troopers. The first set photos feature the cast, some infamous mustaches and a very familiar vehicle.

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a new film from the Broken Lizard crew — their last movie was the underwhelming The Slammin’ Salmon back in 2010, and they’ve long promised fans a sequel to Super Troopers, arguably their best film to date. The guys are officially all back together, with Chandrasekhar behind the camera for Super Troopers 2, as evidenced in the first set photos (via Slashfilm):

Super Troopers 2 officially moved forward after the Broken Lizard guys raised $4.5 million on Indiegogo, thus proving to 20th Century Fox that there is indeed a lot of interest from fans for a sequel. While the group has yet to release any official plot details, they have said that the sequel will feature more male nudity and two of the troopers making out with each other. Scandalous!

As of now, there is no official release date for Super Troopers 2, but we’ll keep you posted as the shenanigans continue.
