Cameron posted an amusing tribute on Twitter to the movie that passed his blockbuster to become the second-biggest hit of all time.

The wait to return to Pandora just got longer.

It’s also the second biggest movie in history after just 10 days in theaters.

(‘Avatar 2’ doesn’t come out for two more years.)

Like any franchise, the Avatar sequels will also depend primarily on audience response.
