No network is wont to give up their biggest success, and Netflix can’t be thrilled with Stranger Things lasting four or five seasons. Well, there’s good news for them (and us), as the Duffer brothers say their four-season plan is likely to expand over time.

The first season of Stranger Things wrapped up with enough resolution to keep us generally satisfied, so might Season 2 up the ante? A new interview with the Duffers offers mixed messages on a Season 2 cliffhanger, along with teases of Eleven’s new abilities.

There’s good reason child actors rarely hang around genre TV, as cameras capture their growth faster than stories can tell. The Stranger Things kids too will seem noticeably older in Season 2, and Netflix even hoped to shoot the next two seasons back-to-back to avoid that pesky puberty.

Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers recently revealed that they once offered to direct the new adaptation of Stephen King’s It, but Warner Bros. politely declined. Instead, they went off and made a Stephen King story of their own with their hit Netflix series. Perhaps returning the shout-out favor, one of the producers behind It is comparing the upcoming film to Stranger Things, thus creating a nostalgia paradox that will inevitably cause the internet to implode.
