One ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel has gotten a pilot order, but will any familiar faces return? How long ago is it set? George R.R. Martin has answers.

It’s official! ‘Game of Thrones’ is getting a prequel series all about the dark history of Westeros.

At the time NBC confirmed Hannibal alum Bryan Fuller to be working on a new iteration of Amazing Stories, the showrunner’s plate seemed exceptionally full. Thankfully, Fuller will have strong writers to lighten the load, now confirmed as everyone from Patton Oswalt to Jane Goldman.

A film adaptation of beloved comic book series ‘Fables’ has been in the works for some time now, with director Nikolaj Arcel (‘A Royal Affair’) attached to bring the dark fantasy story to the big screen. There’s been little word on development of the project recently, but that just changed with the hiring of ‘X-Men: First Class’ screenwriter (and Matthew Vaughn collaborator) Jane Goldman.

Tim Burton is still planning on making that 'Pinocchio' movie, but before you roll your eyes too hard, at least he's hired a talented writer for the project: Jane Goldman.
