While we wait to learn if Jake Gyllenhaal is officially joining Spider-Man: Far From Home as Tom Holland’s new foe, another actor has been enlisted for Peter Parker’s next adventure: J.B. Smoove, the comedian and actor best known for playing Leon on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, has reportedly joined the Homecoming sequel in an undisclosed role.

Six years later, and Larry David hasn’t changed a bit. The first full Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9 trailer has arrived, chock-full of famous faces and all the indignation you could expect from a man who’d shush a weeping woman at a funeral.

You didn’t think Larry David would come back to Curb Your Enthusiasm without a few famous faces, did you? Following announcement of the October premiere, HBO confirms a wealth of new guest stars, including Bryan Cranston, Jimmy Kimmel and Elizabeth Banks.

Oh, that wily J.B. Smoove, always giving away something. The Curb Your Enthusiasm star previously teased an October premiere for the long-awaited ninth season, and HBO now confirms with a first teaser and poster.

HBO knows to step back and let Larry David do his thing when it comes to Curb Your Enthusiasm, but we’ll need a premiere date eventually. Well, Leon himself may have given us the scoop, as reports say J.B. Smoove announced a fall return.

It was J.B. Smoove who first telegraphed that Curb Your Enthusiasm might be coming back for real, so it’s only fitting the first informal production promo would give Leon the spotlight. Larry’s best foil is back (if not Larry himself), as Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9 officially starts production.

Wonderful as it was having Larry David grace our TVs this past season of SNL, fans will always fall back on the hope for another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm down the line. The creator’s HBO invitation remains open, but according to star and comedian J.B. Smoove, David might be actively thinking about a return to his HBO comedy at long last.

We've been excited about Larry David's new movie when we first got wind of it, and when Jon Hamm and Michael Keaton joined the cast, we were elated. Now the movie is filled with great actors, and we can't wait.
