Now that 2018 is finally here, all our 2016 faves are making belated returns. FX and Donald Glover’s Atlanta is first-up with March’s Season 2 premiere, and a new promo teasing the mysterious “Robbin’ Season” ahead.
Netflix’s Death Note sure is still happening, and will be premiering on the streaming service in a little more than a week. To get us all extremely hype for a movie based on material that was popular when most of us were in middle school, Netflix released a clip today of the first meeting between two main characters: Nat Wolff’s Light, and Lakeith Stanfield’s hunched-over detective L.
2017 is already half-over, though it seems only yesterday we learned that Donald Glover’s FX Atlanta would join Westworld in delaying its second season to 2018. Glover’s understandably busy in the meantime, but Season 2 production will apparently start next month, as Glover teases his controversial approach.
The winner of this year’s Sundance Audience Award is coming to theaters this fall, with a trailer that looks absolutely amazing. Crown Heights, starring Atlanta’s Lakeith Stanfield and directed by Matt Ruskin, is the true story of the wrongful conviction of 18-year-old Colin Warner in 1982, and the fight to get him out of prison.
