Showtime may be keeping secrets on its Twin Peaks revival, but even the original series managed to hide the famous Diane that Kyle MacLachlan’s Coop seemed to always record messages for. Now, the obscure figure may finally step into the light, as Laura Dern joins the series for a major role.

It’ll never be as sexy as that new Hamburglar, but the biopic about McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc will definitely be more interesting. The upcoming film, starring Michael Keaton in the role of the calculating businessman has just added two very great names to the cast: former Parks and Recreation star and mustache icon Nick Offerman, and the always amazing Laura Dern.

Okay, so there was a fair amount of disappointment around the 2015 Academy Award nominations. Everything was not awesome for ‘The Lego Movie,’ robbed of a Best Animated Movie nod, and David Oyelowo’s dreams of a Best Actor nomination vanished when Steve Carell and Bradley Cooper’s names were mentioned instead. ‘Force Majeure’ got snubbed for a Best Foreign Language Film nomination and ‘Selma’’s Ava Duvernay was robbed in the Best Director Category. I just keep looking at the list of nominations and playing “Sad Trombone” over and over again. It’s basically the official theme song of the 2015 Academy Awards.

‘Wild,’ which stars another actor, Reese Witherspoon, who is seeking a reclamation of sorts after a high-profile arrest and spending the last few years in rom-com hell. Witherspoon already has an Oscar for her performance in ‘Walk the Line,’ but, other than that added twist, we are hearing the exact same things about a Vallée movie that we did last year.
