Even if you didn’t particularly care for Beyond the Black Rainbow, chances are you’ll dig the heck out of Panos Cosmatos’ newest head-trip, Mandy. The first trailer for the much-buzzed-about festival hit has arrived, offering a sneak peek at a blood-drenched Nicolas Cage out for revenge and giving us what is easily his best performance since Bad Lieutenant.

Nicolas Cage’s next film might actually be his weirdest. No, seriously, hear us out. He’s teamed up with the director of Beyond the Black Rainbow Panos Cosmatos for a revenge thriller set in the wilderness in the 1980s, and from the first official image, it looks just as insane as it sounds.

USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage aside, I remain committed to the cult of Nicolas Cage. I demand my staff keep me constantly apprised of all Cage-related developments; what he’s working on, who he’s working with, if he’s currently attempted to steal any famous documents of American history, what dinosaur bones he has bought and/or sold. I consider it an essential part of my job.
