Vin Diesel’s The Last Witch Hunter is probably best enjoyed as one of those 9th grade date movies. The ones where you pick the next non-sold out showing of a movie starring familiar actors to make out during, thus not suffering from missing plot points. I did this once with Van Helsing, the 2004 vampire equivalent of The Last Witch Hunter.
Vin Diesel. A flaming sword. Gnarly witches and supernatural monsters. Vin Diesel’s insane beard. What more could you ask for in a new film from the star of the Fast and Furious and Riddick franchises? Not much — oh, but then there’s Michael Caine and Elijah Wood and Wildling badass Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones. Okay, so you could ask for more, but the latest trailer for The Last Witch Hunter promises more than enough to satisfy.
On paper, The Last Witch Hunter seems silly, but you know who can handle silly action well? Vin Diesel. The leader of the Riddick franchise is taking on witches and supernatural forces in his upcoming film, and judging by the trailer there’s going to be lots of sword-wielding, flames, and flaming sword-wielding action. Did we also mention Michael Caine is in this? Michael Caine is in this. Let’s go.
Let's face it: the question was never "Will Michael Caine join the cast of 'Interstellar?'", it was "When will we hear about Michael Caine joining the cast of 'Interstellar?'" The answer is right now. The legendary actor has officially signed on to join the mysterious science fiction film and it will mark the sixth time he's worked with director Christopher Nolan.
The heist film 'Now You See Me' has unveiled a brand-new poster and a few images to remind you that this film about illusionist bank robbers exists, in case you'd already forgotten. Or maybe that was part of the master plan all along...?
The trailer for 'Now You See Me' seems to suggest one crazy-ass movie. With a large and awesome ensemble cast, and a plot that seems to revolve around magicians who break into a break in Paris (while still in Vegas) only to give that money away... this could be awesome or terrible or terribly awesome or awesomely terrible. Hard to say.
