The Interview

The Sony hacking scandal has proven to be a massive headache for a company that’s already been having a rough few years. And now, this increasingly weird story has taken an even darker turn: the hackers are threatening to launch terrorist attacks against theaters showing ‘The Interview’ this Christmas. Seriously.

We’ve seen the green band trailer, we’ve seen the naughtier red band trailer, and now we have the final, ultimate trailer for the Seth Rogen and James Franco action comedy ‘The Interview,’ which features a whole lot more Kim Jong-Un. According to James Franco’s character, he’s not so bad—he does give an adorable puppy as a gift (if this year’s film trends are any indication, that puppy’s life may be in danger), and he really digs Katy Perry.

Unlike previous messages, this one actually has demands outside of vague, frightening threats: Sony must delay the release of ‘The Interview,’ “the movie of terrorism,” or face the consequences.

Since James Franco was around to host this week’s ‘SNL’ as part of promoting his upcoming comedy ‘The Interview,’ it was inevitable that his frequent collaborator and co-star and director, Seth Rogen, would pop in to say hello. And they couldn’t have picked a better way to bring him into things. Since ‘The Interview’ is causing all kinds of real-world mayhem, they did what any self-respecting funny people would do: they made fun of it.

Seth Rogen and James Franco might be good pals and one of Hollywood’s most unlikely--and beloved!--comedy duos, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t step back and see each other for who they really are. For instance, Rogen thinks Franco is “a weird guy,” much like, well, most of America. Weirdly, though, Rogen promises that Franco is perhaps slightly less weird than we all think he is.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are back! The new red-band 'The Interview' trailer shows the duo, who brought us such classic debauchery as 'Superbad,' 'This Is the End' and 'Pineapple Express,' are already starting up some drama with their Kim Jong-un assassination story. If that premise alone isn't enough to make you gasp, how about some NSFW talk of "Matthew McConaughey goat f***," and getting "f***** by RoboCop"?

We may have to wait until Christmas to see James Franco and Seth Rogen in 'The Interview,' but the pair are already hard at work making sure that audiences are extremely, perhaps uncomfortably familiar with their characters through a 'Very Special VMA Special.'

Sony is digitally removing thousands of military decorations on the uniforms of the North Korean military characters. Apparently, showing these specific symbols, which honor Kim Jong Un and his late father Kim Jong Il, on film would be considered hugely offensive to North Korean government.

'The Interview' trailer suggests that writer/directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg aren't taking it easy after 'This Is the End.' Rogen reunites with James Franco to star in the film, and the duo act as the world's worst spies as they head to North Korean with plans to kill Kim Jong-un.

One of the reasons why Mondo Posters have become a such a big thing in the geek community is that few modern posters pop these days. Bad photoshop, floating heads, few done with any sense of artistry. Which is why it's going to be awfully hard for a studio to produce a better poster than the one just released for writer/directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's 'The Interview.'
