The Tomorrow People

The continued expansion of The CW’s DC universe already stretched Arrow Season 3 a bit thinner by way of The Flash, so it stands to reason that Legends of Tomorrow might require some additional firepower. Enter the new Legends showrunner, already familiar to fans of The CW’s dearly-departed Tomorrow People.

Much as we’ve enjoyed ‘Agent Carter’’s 1940's adventures through the Marvel universe, March 3 will see the ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ returning to present day after its 2014 finale, charting a new course through the “Aftershocks” of “What They Become.” To wit, Marvel has cast its very first documented ‘Inhuman tasking ‘Tomorrow People’’s Luke Mitchell as an enigmatic new figure for Skye.

Both 'Arrow' and 'The Tomorrow People' fans were disappointed to find The CW's "Amellsdays" broken up by the latter's untimely cancellation, but a new day for the Amell cousins has dawned. Robbie Amell, kin to 'Arrow''s leading man Stephen, will return to the CW to join spinoff series 'The Flash' as an incarnation of DC superhero Firestorm!

Moments ago we saw news that The CW officially ordered 'Arrow' spinoff 'The Flash' to series, along with the similarly comic-friendly 'iZombie,' but the news isn't all good. The 'Supernatural' spinoff 'Bloodlines' is officially a pass, while the network also opted not to renew 'The Tomorrow People,' 'Star-Crossed' or enduring 'Sex and the City' prequel series 'The Carrie Diaries.'

A few weeks ago, The CW surprised us all with early guaranteed renewals for our personal favorites 'Arrow' and 'Supernatural,' as well as 'The Vampire Diaries' and freshman offerings 'The Originals' and 'Reign.' Not all of the network's series have been guaranteed additional seasons, but we at least have exact dates for their impending finales!

Granted, standards for The CW are far different than that of other broadcast networks like CBS or even NBC, it seems The CW has a full house in its fall 2013 lineup. Full-season orders have been given to 'The Vampire Diaries' offshoot 'The Originals,' as well as Amell-cousin fronted 'The Tomorrow People,' and the Mary Queen of Scots drama 'Reign.'

And so it goes for fall 2013 that The CW has become the third major network to release its premiere schedule of the coming year. Once more, The CW will hold off on its major premieres until October in avoidance of competition from the other networks, holding some of its new and returning sci-fi series on deck for midseason.
