‘The Simpsons’ Get ‘Frozen’ and More in Christmas Couch Gag
Were ‘The Simpsons’ to plop down for a Christmas couch gag, you’d better believe we’ll get a ‘Frozen’ reference and never let it go. Watch FOX’s favorite animated family tackle Elsa, Olaf and the rest, as well as a smorgasbord of Christmas parodies from ‘Seinfeld’ to ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ and back!
We won’t spoil the extent of FOX’s ‘Frozen’ parody from the latest ‘Simpsons’ couch gag to air with Sunday’s “I Won’t Be Home for Christmas,” but the rest of the bit manages to cram in quite a (ginger)breadth of pop culture holiday humor. You might want to stop here and watch for yourself, but at a glance we caught Milhouse’s best Linus impression, a Festivus for the rest of us, Rudolph’s Abominable Snow Monster, ‘Chronicles of Narnia,’ and more.
Best of all, the spot even manages to work in the spirits of Krusty’s late father, as well as the dearly-remembered Joan Rivers. Meanwhile, the episode itself will lean toward the more thoughtful holiday variety, as Marge kicks Homer out of the house for spending all Christmas Eve at Moe’s.
Watch ‘The Simpsons’ go ‘Frozen’ for yourself with the Christmas couch gag above, and tell us what other holiday references you caught in the comments! And hey, while we’re at it…
