After emerging from Sundance with critical acclaim, 'The Spectacular Now' has released its first trailer, reminding us why we loved this movie from the start.

Miles Teller ('21 & Over') and Shailene Woodley ('Divergent') give (sorry for the pun) spectacular performances as lovestruck teenagers. After many failed auditions, Teller, who told ScreenCrush he ultimately won the part after a fruitful meeting with director James Ponsoldt, plays Sutter, a member of the in-crowd who falls for the less-popular Aimee. After their budding friendship turns into something more, Sutter finds that there's more to life than the small world he's been living in.

Written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber ('500 Days of Summer'), 'The Spectacular Now' was picked up by A24, the same distributor who brought us 'Spring Breakers' and 'The Bling Ring,' and is set for an Aug. 2 theatrical release. Check out the trailer (above), which debuted on MTV, and see why everyone can't stop talking about this hit.
