'The Walking Deadseason 3 finale left us a bit out of sorts for how season 4 would pick up with an entirely new prison population and a mysterious new threat, but consider our questions answered! An extended new preview for the season has arrived, chock full of new character reveals, zombie guts, and teases of the new threats to come in 'The Walking Dead' season 4!

There's a lot to take in with TVLine's latest preview of 'The Walking Dead' season 4, which doesn't concretely identify the new threat that is more dangerous than either walkers of other humans, though the threat definitely seems to come from within. Our money's on a saboteur, perhaps a growing madness and insanity that comes to grip survivors, or perhaps something more local like a disease.

Producer Scott M. Gimple says of the new footage that there may not be hope for the survivors after all, though much of what we see pertains to life in the prison with Woodbury's survivors, including new friends for Carl, a new love interest for Tyreese, and plenty of warm bodies to keep defenses up around the crumbling iron locale. Still unseen is our wayward Governor however, thought not for Michonne's lack of searching.

While we await the latest details from ‘The Walking Dead’ season 4, the next run of the AMC horror-drama will introduce ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as comic character Bob Stookey, and upgrade actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars. The series is confirmed to have begun casting three new roles exceptionally familiar to comic fans, while David Morrissey will also return in season 4 as a series regular, though beyond this season his involvement seems unlikely.

Preview 'The Walking Dead' season 4 with our longest new look yet, and tell us your predictions for the October 13 premiere in the comments!
