The timeliness of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale made it a go-to reference against the Trump administration, but taking that connection literally is another matter. See for yourself, as Funny Or Die puts a terrifying spin on Trump’s The Handmaid’s Tale with a few moments that’ll tug at your collar.

Funny Or Die’s new parody mashes up trailers for Hulu’s Elisabeth Moss-led take on Margaret Atwood’s work with scenes from real-life politics, and unsurprisingly few seams. The bit does edge a bit risqué with the suggestion of machine-gunning a real-life Congress, or identifying Melania among “barren wives” (really more Barron wives), but there’s nothing quite so disturbing as the edits of Offred playing surrogate between … well, you get it.

Definitely a more focused parody than the SNL take a few weeks back, but hopefully by the time The Handmaid’s Tale Season 2 rolls around, the real-life similarity won’t feel so on the nose.

In the meantime, new episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale continue streaming on Hulu each Wednesday.
