Viggo Mortensen

Viggo Mortensen's name isn't mentioned enough in movie news. He's one of the best actors we have in the business today and any role he's attached to is guaranteed to make us buy a movie ticket. And with this new role he's been offered, we'd be more than happy to sink our teeth into watching him play a part in a new vampire tale.

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Viggo Mortensen has been offered the lead role in the new vampire movie 'The Last Voyage of the Demeter.' The story is about the crew of the ship who carried Dracula's coffin from Transylvania to England and are killed off one-by-one by a mysterious passenger. Gee, wonder who that could be?

Mortensen has been offered the role of Henry Clemens. Ben Kinglsey is rumored to be playing the film's Captain while Noomi Rapace, currently starring in 'Prometheus,' is rumored to be playing the part of Anna Billington.

The project has been floating around since 2004 but with Neil Marshall attached to direct, it's finally coming together. The latest draft is by Lowell Cauffiel. We're not sure if any of this casting news is going to come to fruition, but if it does, then the film will have some heavy acting hitters starring in it. And while we'll take whatever role Mortensen wants to play on the big screen, we still have to ask -- where's that sequel to 'Eastern Promises?'
