We knew that 'Kick-Ass 2' was moving forward with a new director at the helm and a new studio footing the bill, but we didn't know which members of the original film's cast would be suiting up for the sequel. Well, now we do and fans of the first movie will be mighty pleased.

According to Deadline, the changes behind the scenes haven't given anyone in front of the camera cold feet. Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have all but signed on the dotted line to return as Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and The Red Mist respectively. Nicolas Cage, despite meeting a horrifying and gruesome end in the first film, is also being sought for a cameo appearance (flashback, perhaps?).

That right there dispels any potential buzz that 'Kick-Ass 2' will be a cheap, tossed-together sequel. Even though director Jeff Wadlow doesn't have the geek cred that Matthew Vaughn had with part one, his willingness to make this a direct follow-up speaks volumes about his respect for the series.

While the first film has an enthusiastic following, it only did okay at the box office, not making nearly as much as the pre-release buzz suggested. With more people discovering the first film at home, will 'Kick-Ass 2' become the big hit many thought the first one deserved to be? Time will tell.
