Though they didn't have the natural comic rhythms of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Mark Wahlberg and Ferrell made for a potent combination in 'The Other Guys.' So it's no surprise the two will team up again for '3 Mississippi,' which just landed Sean Anders and John Morris as the writers on the film, with Anders set to direct.

Anders and Morris wrote together on such studio pictures as 'She's Outta My League' and 'Mr. Popper's Penguins,' but their best work is still Anders's directorial debut 'Sex Drive.' 'Drive' is actually funny, and the duo had no hand in directing those others films, nor did they direct 'Hot Tub Time Machine,' which had a great premise with poor execution. Anders recently helmed 'That's My Boy,' which stars Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, so he's on his way up.

Wahlberg didn't exude his normal confidence in 'The Other Guys,' but he did have some very funny moments in the film even if it didn't feel like a natural pairing. As the plot is described by The Hollywood Reporter, in this case the two would be on opposing sides of a very competitive touch football game, so perhaps they'll work better as foes than partners. Both stars have other projects coming up, with Ferrell launching into pre-production on 'Anchorman 2' (incidentally, Adam McKay was scheduled to direct '3 Mississippi' before 'Anchorman 2' was greenlit and now has passed the film off to Anders and Morris).
