Jubilee is one of the more wildly divisive characters from X-Men — you either love or loathe her to pieces. Throughout five X-Men films and a few spinoffs, Jubilee has never really been featured, although she did put in some very minor appearances in the first few films. That’s all changing now as director Bryan Singer has cast newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee for X-Men: Apocalypse.

The director revealed the casting via his Instagram, along with a photo of Condor, for those curious, of course:

I'd officially like to welcome our newest mutant #JubilationLee, #Jubilee @LanaCondor to #XMEN #Apocalypse

Apocalypse will mark the acting debut of Condor, so you don’t need to scramble over to IMDb to find out if you’ve seen her in anything else. There isn’t much to Jubilee, traditionally — in the comics, she’s often brightly dressed, and her power is the ability to blast people with pyrotechnics that shoot out of her hands. The Chinese-American daughter of immigrant parents, she hails from California, where she spent quite a bit of time as a skilled gymnast.

If you’re a fan of Jubilee, you’ll be pleased to see her finally getting some screen time (although how much, really?), but those who take issue with her weaker abilities, attitude and damsel in distress tendencies might be raising an eyebrow or two right now. Hopefully Singer can take this often-derided character and transform her into something more substantial and badass for Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
