At this year Oscars, Seth MacFarlane caused quite a controversy as he hosted the ceremony with a number of risque bits and jokes (most notably the "We Saw Your Boobs" song from the opening monologues) but that was exactly what Oscar producers hoped MacFarlane would bring to the normally staid production. The 'Family Guy' creator previously said he has no interest in returning, the producers seemed to have liked the controversy (and the ratings that went with it) and MacFarlane has officially been invited to return to host the 2014 Oscars.

Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who worked on the 2013 Oscars and hired MacFarlane to host, will be returning for the 2014 Oscars and, according to JustJared, have invited MacFarlane to host again next year.

In February, after the 2013 Oscars aired, MacFarlane said there was "no way" he would host the Oscars again. Those comments came shortly after the event aired and perhaps he'll have a change of heart (or the Oscar producers can convince him to return). After all, no one thought that Ricky Gervais would ever come back to host the Golden Globes a second time but there he was, two years in a row.

Whether MacFarlane wants to or not (he reportedly is "not sure" he wants to return and has been asked to deliver a final decision in the next few weeks), he might not be able to as he preps his upcoming western-comedy 'A Million Ways to Die in the West' with Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried. That project was expected to begin shooting this summer and could preclude MacFarlane from taking part in the 2014 Oscars. MacFarlane is also prepping 'Ted 2' and if he was able to host the Oscars after he wrapped filming on 'A Million Ways' it could push back the 'Ted' sequel well into 2015 (if it happens at all).

What would you think? Would you want him to return for another year or do you this the 2014 Oscars should go in a different direction?
