Sony Pictures and MGM recently announced that '22 Jump Street' production commenced in New Orleans Saturday, September 28, and the first photos from the set of the reunited Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have hit the web.

Tatum and Hill return as Jenko and Schmidt, respectively, in the sequel, following their undercover operation in high school. The duo also re-team with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, as well as producer Neal H. Moritz. According to the official plot synopsis:

In the action-comedy '22 Jump Street,' after making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt and Jenko when they go deep undercover at a local college.

Said Moritz of the sequel, "We were all so thrilled by the irreverent humor and the chemistry between Channing and Jonah as we sent them back to high school in the first film. So, of course, we just had to send them to college. It’s also great to have Chris and Phil back at the helm. From the get go they have had the perfect pulse on the material, and have created an unforgettable cop buddy team in Schmidt and Jenko."

Although we previously reported that Brie Larson would not be returning for '22 Jump Street,' the sequel does feature a return from Ice Cube as Captain Dickson alongside newcomers Amber Stevens and Wyatt Russell (yes, Kurt Russell's son). Check out the first photos from the set of the film, which is scheduled for release on June 13, 2014.
