There are a lot of intriguing things going on in '7 Days in Hell,' an original movie being produced for HBO. First of all, it's a sports comedy. Secondly, it's a mockumentary. Third, it's going to star the completely untested comedy duo of 'SNL' alum Andy Samberg and ... 'Game of Thrones' star Kit Harington?!

Yeah, go ahead and insert your "You know nothing about comedy, Jon Snow" jokes right here.

Although Harington may not have the time-tested comedy chops of his co-star, '7 Days in Hell' sounds like the kind of project that will be awfully hard to screw up. These two very different leading men will play rival tennis players who engage in an epic week-long match at Wimbledon. As Deadline points out, this is seemingly inspired by the 2010 championship match between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut, which lasted for three days. The project was written by 'Girls' veteran Murray Miller, and 'SNL' and 'Funny or Die' veteran Jake Szymanski will direct.

But that's not all! The movie also boasts a jaw-dropping supporting cast, including Fred Armisen, Lena Dunham, Will Forte, Karen Gillan, Howie Mandel, Soledad O'Brien, Michael Sheen, Mary Steenburgen, and June Squibb. This may be the strongest and strangest group of actors assembled for a comedic faux doc since the last Christopher Guest film. Heck, even Howie Mandel seems intriguing when you place him in an ensemble that eclectic.

We may not know too many details about '7 Days in Hell' yet, but this is the kind of project that feels like it's going to be a must-watch for comedy fans and sports fans alike. After all, the slightly pretentious title just screams '30 For 30' and there's nothing that sounds more appealing to us than a parody of that great ESPN series.
