Bestflix — ScreenCrush’s monthly video series dedicated to finding the best new stuff to watch on Netflix — is back with more recommendations for October 2015. (If you missed July, August, or September’s episodes, it’s not too late to add more great films and TV shows to your MyList.)

This month on the show: It’s October, and just in time for Halloween, Netflix has added The Nightmare, a documentary about the terrifying condition known as sleep paralysis. If you’re not one for ghosts and ghouls, you can hit the town with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, or get “Frozen Fever” with a new collection of Walt Disney Animation Studios short films. More importantly, Netflix has got a brand new original feature, Beasts of No Nation from True Detective director Cary Fukunaga. Will it be Netflix’s first Best Picture nominee? Early reviews suggest it could be.

We’ll be back in November with five new recommendations. Until then, don’t forget to browse the full list of what’s new and expiring on Netflix here at ScreenCrush. (If you want to strut through the fashion world with Bruno, you better get on that in the next two weeks.) And make sure you subscribe to ScreenCrush’s YouTube Channel, so you never miss any of the latest episodes of Bestflix, Top Five, or You Think You Know Movies.
