And even more young adult adaptation news: Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, the writer/director team behind 'The Words' (opening this weekend in a theater near you!) are now attached to direct 'Break My Heart 1,000 Times,' based on the upcoming YA novel by Daniel Waters.

THR is reporting that Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal have been brought in to polish up a script by Jason Fuchs ('Ice Age: Continental Drift'), which they will then direct. 'Break My Heart 1,000 Times' is a young adult fiction novel set for release in October from Hyperion and was written by Daniel Waters, who also authored 'Generation Dead.'

The story takes place in a -- you guys, you'll never believe this -- dystopian future, nine years after a devastating worldwide event has occurred and left ghosts wandering the earth. Most of the ghosts are harmless, but a 16 year old girl notices one ghost in particular has taken a liking to her -- in fact, it's straight-up stalking her, and even worse, she believes it's the apparition of a serial killer. We hate when that happens.

Klugman and Sternthal received a writing credit for 'Tron: Legacy' and their latest effort, 'The Words' --which they both wrote and directed -- hits theaters this Friday, starring Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, and Dennis Quaid.
