'The Simpsons' is entering its 25th year of existence, as hard as that is to believe, and to help celebrate, the show's creators will be appearing at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. What's particularly interesting, however, is that they'll evidently be bringing never-before-seen footage from the show directed by none other than Guillermo del Toro. You read that correctly.

Right now, details on this are slim. The news comes from a press release sent out by Fox, which announced that it'll be bringing 11 shows to the Con (click here to find out which ones). Regarding 'The Simpsons,' the network's statement reads as follows:

Celebrate The Simpsons’ 25th year on the air with Creator Matt Groening, Executive Producer Al Jean, Supervising Director Mike Anderson, Consulting Producer David Silverman, never-before seen footage from guest director Guillermo del Toro and musical guests “We Put The Spring In Springfield”!

Wish we had more to share, but that's all they're giving us right now. Perhaps del Toro directed an installment of "Treehouse of Horror"? That would figure, but since the man has been heavily involved with animation these last few years (he was an executive producer on Dreamworks' 'Puss in Boots' and 'Rise of the Guardians'), anything is possible.

Del Toro has been a consistent presence at Comic-Con, and obviously you can expect him to be there again this year. His latest film, 'Pacific Rim,' opens one week before the Con, on July 12.
