October 21, 2015 — the day Marty McFly arrives at in “the future” of Back to the Future Part II. When the movie first opened in 1989, that date felt like an eternity away. Now, we are here.

And we still don’t have f—ing hoverboards.

If you want a replica hoverboard to lug around this Halloween, though, Amazon’s got that — along with a bunch of other officially licensed Marty McFly costume pieces. In fact, while the engineers and inventors of 2015 are still lagging far behind their fictional counterparts, our “future” is swimming in Back to the Future tie-in merchandise. The flying cars, if they’re ever coming, are still a long ways off. But if you want sneakers that light-up like Marty’s did, the future (technically the present) is very bright indeed.

In honor of this most holy day for BTTF fans, we’ve assembled the gallery above featuring what we consider to be the 20 coolest pieces of Back to the Future merchandise. Some of them are almost as old as the movies themselves; a few aren’t even commercially available yet. There’s no pizza hydrator, but the list does run the gamut from toys to posters to clothes. (No pizza hydrator? Man 2015 is lame! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go watch a movie on my phone.)

Let’s look on the bright side. Maybe by the time we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of Marty’s trip into the future we’ll do it in flying cars, or on a hoverboard, or somewhere deep in outer space. As long as I can get my pizza hydrated fresh, I’d be all over that.
